Cascade 2017 was held over 2 weekends on a huge scale, 5th-6th August and 12th-13th August. JNAA celebrated their silver jubilee by increasing their potential and reach to students excessively to an All-India level. This year, Cascade also introduced the concept of Online Events where students could participate in this mega fest within the comfort of their homes.

The first weekend comprised of Sports Mania. Due to the sheer volume of the event, it was held at Khar Gymkhana with over 500 students participating in squash, table tennis, swimming and many more sports, setting the mood for the rest of the festivities.

Aashayein by Cascade is an initiative taken by Cascade, catering to underprivileged students from various NGO’s all over the city. In its 2nd year running, Aashayein spread smiles all over by the hosting of successful events like dancing, singing and art. We were graced by eminent personalities branching out to various sectors of the entertainment industry like Ravi Dubey, Rithvik Dhanjani, Ankita Patel, and many more. To the children’s surprise, Kiku Sharda took the stage and performed with the Aashayein students. ‘Poorna’ is a story of a young girl who fights through her impoverished life and still, climbed the Mt. He not only came and discussed the movie with the young participants, but also graced the closing ceremony.

The final weekend hosted a plethora of events for all kind of students, be it different ages or different set of talents like, Purani Jeans-the band event, Pier Kraft-cupcake decoration, Chemical X- fashion show, The Parade, and many more, each being a success of their own.

Numero Uno-the personality contest, which was known to be and is still known to be one of the most wanted and watched event at Cascade, had Bollywood’s popular directors Ayaan Mukherjee and Amit V Masurkar in attendance as judges of the event, who truly tested the personalities of the students with their quick wit and charming persona.

The overall trophy had a tie for the 1st place between Vibgyor High International School, Malad and with Hiranandani Foundation School, Powai.

The trustee of Jamnabai Narsee School and the chief guest for the closing ceremony, Mr. Jairaj Thacker only had good things to say about the organizing committee. “The alumni team works extremely hard, and makes Cascade come back each year better than before. The standard of the event has only increased and it is solely credited to these kids’ hard work and their love for school.” said Mr. Thacker.
