Overstay fine: Visitors who overstay their visit visa duration must pay their overstay fine and obtain an out pass or leave permit at an additional cost before exiting the country. “This applies to visitors who are exiting through Dubai,” said a spokesperson for Deira Travels. “The out pass is not required by visitors you are leaving from other emirates.”
60-day visas resumed: The issuing of 60-day visit visas was resumed in the UAE after the reforms. Currently, 30-day visit visas and 60-day visit visas are being issued for those wanting to visit the country.

However, the visit visas can still be submitted by trading companies, individuals, or families. However, the same documentation requirements apply to both visa categories.

While the ongoing issue of UAE visas has impacted Indian travellers along with travel agents facing a huge loss reportedly a sharp rise in visa rejections i.e. a jump of 5-6%, compared to the earlier rate of 1-2%. Even travellers who had already made arrangements are struggling to get their visas approved under the new rules. This has resulted in not only the forfeiture of visa fees but also the loss of money spent on pre-booked flights and hotel reservations. Rishikesh Pujari, Director of Bihar Travels, said, “The rejection rate for Dubai tourist visa applications is unprecedented; this has never happened before. Earlier, nearly 99% of Dubai visa applications would be approved. Now, we are seeing rejections even for well-prepared travellers. There have been cases where, despite all the documents being in place, the visa was still not granted.” Pujari mentioned that a group of 35 people had to cancel their Dubai trip when a family member’s visa was rejected, causing them financial loss.
Vijay Thakkar, Director of Hasmukh Travels, shared that two of his travellers’ visas were rejected even though they had submitted all the necessary documents. He said, “Two of our travellers had their Dubai visa applications rejected. They were supposed to stay with relatives in Dubai. We submitted the documents as per the new rules, but their applications were still denied.”
